BREAKING: The Wharton at Jesuit game scheduled for Friday has been cancelled. NFL betting: Week 4 favorites to avoid on a teaser - Yahoo Sports

Image
All lines from BetMGM. Another week, another opportunity to cash an NFL six-point teaser. There are so many games that fall into a teaser-leg option, which could make things tricky. Here's what I've got this week hoping to ride the current 3-0 streak. As a reminder, here is the basic teaser strategy. (And how teasers work.) Tease home favorites of 7.5, 8, 8.5, or 9 points down. Tease home underdogs of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 points up. Tease road underdogs of 1, 1.5, 2, or 2.5 points up. When possible, emphasize games with lower game totals rather than projected shootouts. Week 4 road favorites to avoid If you noticed the parameters mentioned above, they don't include road favorites. Ask 100 bettors which two teams they will be teasing this week and 100 people will tell you that they have a ticket with some combination of Titans, Bucs, and Chiefs. Titans -1.5 at Jets Chiefs -1.5 at Eagles Buccaneers -.5 at Patriots Tampa is not a good teaser option, whether the spread is 6.5 or 7. C...

Big Ten Football Power Rankings: Week 4 - On The Banks

Image
Is Rutgers the talk of the Big Ten right now? Maybe it's the poor start for Graham Mertz and Wisconsin or Minnesota losing as a massive favorite. There is little change at the top of the power rankings after four weeks. The top teams have continued to flex their muscles and this should have fans excited for what the conference schedule is going to bring. That will heat up beginning this weekend with Penn State taking on Indiana and a matchup between Michigan-Wisconsin — and of course, the Buckeyes travel to Piscataway. There are plenty of ways these rankings can go but it has already begun playing itself out. That will only continue as the schedule rolls on. After four weeks, here is how the Big Ten power rankings have played out. (Editor's Note: AP Poll rankings included after power rankings listing for each team it's applicable for.) 1. No. 4 Penn State (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) Previously: 1 Most Recent: W, 38-17 vs. Villanova Next: 10/2 vs. Indiana Penn State c...

The Best Basketball Hoops for Your Money - Money

Image
Shooting hoops in the driveway is a tradition in many households. And you can't shoot hoops without a basketball hoop. While there are plenty of portable basketball hoops on the market for under $100, cheap models generally don't last long — and they're often wobbly, with a weak bounce off the backboard, even when they're brand new. A cheap, basic hoop may be fine if all you want is a toy for your little kids to get a taste of basketball. Just be warned that they may outgrow it fairly quickly, as the backboards on these models can soon feel very small to players, and the shaking from shots off the backboard only gets worse as bolts loosen over time. Instead, what you probably want is a well-built basketball hoop that will hold up sturdily through cold winters, strong winds and blazing summer sunshine alike. The goal is to have a gathering place for family games of HORSE, intense two-on-twos, ritualistic f...

Top 10 storylines of the 2020-21 PGA TOUR season - pgatour.com

Image
Patrick Cantlay's duel with Jon Rahm at the TOUR Championship to win his first FedExCup title capped off a huge 2020-21 PGA TOUR Super Season that began 361 days ago at the Fortinet Championship in Napa, California. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic produced a season unlike any other. For the first, and probably the last time, there were six major championships, three World Golf Championships, an Olympics, a PLAYERS Championship before an awesome FedExCup Playoffs all inside the one PGA TOUR season. And we had historic moments through just about all of those. Some of which would have been laughed at by Hollywood screenwriters as unbelievable had they been touted prior. Through 50 tournaments we witnessed thrills and spills from the greatest players on the planet with incredible golf coming thick and fast. The season was so packed tight with highlights that the task of coming up with the top 10 storylines from the last year of PGA TOUR golf was a near impossible task. But we...

Utah Jazz: regrading the 2019 Bojan Bogdanovic signing - The J Notes

Image
In case you've somehow gotten this far in life without the following information, we've got you covered: NBA contracts are big. The Utah Jazz handed Croatian sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic a four-year, $72 million dollar contract in the summer of 2019. Should they have buyer's remorse? The answer may not be a distinct yes or no. The Bogey man provides the Jazz with a lot of value as a 6'7 combo forward with high-level floor spacing and some secondary shot creation. Still, the average annual value of Bogdanovic's contract is $18.25 million a year. That's a substantial portion of a team's cap sheet. Let's look at whether Bogdanovic is really worth that kind of salary for the Utah Jazz based on his offensive value, defensive value, and value relative to his peers. Utah Jazz offense Bogdanovic is largely known for his offensive contributions, and rightfully so. His value to the Utah Jazz starts behind the 3 point line, where he's shot a sterling 40.2%...

A place of hope': Mavs Foundation dedicates 29th court back to the North Texas community - Mavs.com

Image
FORT WORTH – The Mavs Foundation, in partnership with Coca-Cola, dedicated its 29th basketball court to the North Texas community on Tuesday afternoon at a festive event that took place at My Health My Resources Youth Recovery (MHMR) of Tarrant County. A dozen teenagers from the facility stood near the podium with huge smiles across their faces as the audience celebrated and cheered on the official unveiling of the court. It was a moment they had dreamed about for months. Leading up to the event, leaders at MHMR said the teens anticipated the completion of the basketball court renovations. Many of them even worked with Mavs Foundation officials to place the finishing touches on the outdoor facility. Now they have a safe place of their own to get fresh air and shoot hoops, serving as yet another powerful reminder of how sports like basketball can bring such healing, joy and hope to others. "Basketball is one of my loves and one of my coping skills," said one teenag...

Orlando Magic’s Jonathan Isaac at center of NBA’s vaccine discussion - Orlando Magic Daily

Image
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac is not afraid to stand out. It is hard for a 7-footer to sneak into the background. The only thing that has kept him out of the spotlight is his recovery from injury that has occurred behind closed doors. As the season gets closer, fans have only been excited for his possible return and the joy and impact he can bring to the court. Isaac has long been a fan-favorite player for his play on the court and the promise he provides. Not to mention his work in the community. During the early days of the pandemic as schools and everything else shut down, Isaac organized meal deliveries for children who relied on school to give them daily meals. Isaac is not afraid to stand out. But Isaac is beginning to stand out for the wrong reasons. And while everyone has to come to the decision to take the COVID-19 vaccine in their own time and for their own reasons, Isaac as a team leader is taking the heat for remaining unvaccinated and seemingly spreading misinformat...

Chicago Bears coach Matt Nagy says all 3 quarterbacks under consideration to start vs. Detroit Lions - ESPN

Image
2:35 PM ET LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Everything is on the table for the Chicago Bears. Coach Matt Nagy said on Monday that all three Chicago quarterbacks -- Justin Fields, Andy Dalton and Nick Foles -- are under consideration to start on Sunday versus the Detroit Lions after Week 3's 26-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Dalton is currently sidelined with a left knee bruise, and Fields suffered an injury to his right throwing hand against the Browns. Fields underwent X-rays after the game and said he felt fine, but Nagy was not ready yet to commit to a starter for the Lions game. 1 Related "All three are under consideration right now in regards to where they're at, so we'll just kind of have to see in the next couple days where they're all at," Nagy said. "We know where Nick's at, health-wise, but we just want to keep an eye on Justin and Andy. Then, for us to stay on that and make sure that we have a plan for any of those." Fields completed only 6 of 20...

RELATED: Weekend schedule | Qualifying order for Cup cars The rumble strip posed an issue during Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race on the 2.439-mile road course after a Lap 1 crash damaged the front end of a number of cars when they got off-course, including Brandon Brown, Harrison Burton, Kevin Harvick and Brandon Jones. Image
Rhode Island Basketball Antwan Walker Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports Although this is an exciting season for the Rams, there are still many questions that Rhode Island Basketball fans have following a disappointing season. For Rhody, the opportunity to turn the page and start fresh comes behind the excitement of the fans. LaMelo Ball-Anthony Edwards: Which star is better to build around - ClutchPoints

Image
LaMelo Ball may have edged out Anthony Edwards for the Rookie of the Year award, but there's no denying those two were the top rookies of their class for the 2020-21 season. Though the class of 2021 looked loaded with promising young talent across the board, it's clear that Ball and Edwards were ahead of their peers. Despite going scoreless in his debut NBA game, the Charlotte Hornets stud dazzled throughout his rookie campaign. He clearly looked like the runaway favorite for top rookie honors through the first few months of the season. However, a midseason wrist fracture that kept him out for 21 games threatened his case for a while there, especially since Edwards went on an absolute tear through the second half of the season after initially struggling out of the gates. The Minnesota Timberwolves rookie looked like a completely different beast after the All-Star break. The Hornets and Timberwolves clearly found gems with Ball and Edwards, respectively. There's no dou...
