Dynasty Sleepers: Wide Receivers (2021 Fantasy Football) - FantasyPros

JuJu Smith-Schuster's dynasty stock has faded, but he's only 24 years old entering his fifth season. This piece is part of our article program that features quality content from experts exclusively at FantasyPros. For more insight from Jeff Bell , head over to GoingFor2.com . The depth of the wide receiver position is a persistent refrain throughout the fantasy game. To paraphrase Lloyd Christmas: "So you're telling me there's a chance." In a weekly pinch, WR provides the most opportunity for unexpected points. It is an inherent exercise in volatility; you will more often find yourself staring at a dud. NFL targets fall into an established hierarchy. Passing games that produce more than two consistent contributors are rare, relying on enhanced volume or manufacturing touches in unique situations.   An example is the 2020 Carolina Panthers, as three WRs (D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and Curtis Samuel) cracked the top 30 on a points-per-game basis . T

NFL's worst-to-first candidates: Which teams can rise to top of their divisions? - USA TODAY

Image
Offseason is the time for expectations to run amok throughout the NFL. With the release of the regular-season schedule and team OTAs ramping up, fans and teams begin mapping out their playoff paths. But parity can be something of a mirage, many of the league's most outmatched squads struggling to lift themselves from the bottom of the standings. The Washington Football Team was the only franchise to complete a worst-to-first transformation within its division in 2020, and it required a wacky, down-to-the-wire NFC East race to do so. Yet this portion of the calendar inevitably renews hope. And with teams not bogged down by the same COVID-19 restrictions they had to navigate last offseason, there could be more room for some more upheaval in the standings.  Here's how all eight fourth-place finishers rank in their ability to go from worst to first in 2021: DE Nick Bosa (97) helped fuel the 49ers' charge to Super Bowl 54 during the 2019 season. DeSales blown out by St. Vincent-St. Mary in Division II state championship - The Columbus Dispatch

DAYTON — DeSales couldn't have played a better first half. Despite being overmatched on paper against Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in the Division II state championship, the Stallions spent the first 16 minutes of the game playing without fear and led by five at halftime. Then the wheels fell off.  The Fighting Irish outscored DeSales 26-9 in the third quarter to go from trailing by five to a commanding 12-point lead. The dominant quarter powered SVSM to its OHSAA-record ninth state championship as it went on to win, 72-50. "We tried to eliminate easy shots, which we did a decent job of in the first half," coach Pat Murphy said. "We tried to take care of the ball, which we did a really good job of in the first half. Tried to eliminate second chances for them, which we did a really good job of in the first half. Tried to get to the rim and the free throw line, which we did a really good job of in the first half. "I sound like a broken record. We were prepar

French Open 2021 experts' picks - Our gurus see Rafael Nadal, Coco Gauff, Ash Barty making big runs - ESPN

4:27 PM ET While the French Open returns to its normal May/June time slot after the COVID-19 pandemic pushed last year's edition of the Grand Slam event to the fall, there is still one constant: Everyone on the men's side will be trying to figure out how to beat the King of Clay. Four-time defending champion Rafael Nadal, who has won the tournament a record 13 times, is looking to add to his dominance at Roland Garros. This time, he definitely will have to go through either Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic, as all the members of the Big Three are in the same half of a Slam main draw for the first time since 2005. Ashleigh Barty, meanwhile, returns to Paris after winning the women's singles crown in 2019 and skipping the trip in 2020 due to COVID-19 travel restrictions and risks. Will Nadal and Barty win on clay again? Which players could break through? Our tennis gurus make their picks for the 2021 French Open. Who will win the men's singles title? Rafael N

Mamelodi Sundowns Player Ratings vs SuperSport United: 9.5 for Modiba - Goal.com

Image
Impressive against Al-Ahly at the weekend, and simply sensational against his former club. Influential as the deadlock was broken as he provided the assist for Lebohang Maboe's opener, and then got a goal of his own as his swirling cross beat Ronwen Williams. He contributed a second assist for Themba Zwane's goal, and his versatility remains a key asset for this Sundowns team. Rating: 9.5

The best trampoline of 2021 - Hartford Courant

FIT Bounce PRO USA Bungee Rebounder: available at Amazon Our take: Those looking to add jumping to their home fitness routines will love the support of FIT Bounce PRO's 60 bungee connectors and soft, silent landing. What we like: Easy assembly. Folds in half for easy storage but has a secure locking mechanism to prevent trampoline buckling during a workout session. What we dislike: Pricier than other models, so more of a gamble if you're not sure you like rebounding.

Eastern Illinois shooting guard lists Oklahoma among top transfer destinations - Sooners Wire

Image
The Oklahoma Sooners are continuing to build their 2021 roster using the transfer portal. The newest head coach Porter Moser could be closing in another talent from a non-Power Five school with Marvin Johnson of Eastern Illinois. Johnson is an Oklahoma native from Ardmore. He signed with Eastern Illinois in the 2019 recruiting cycle and could be looking to come back home and playing for the Sooners. Along with OU the Arkansas Razorbacks, Georgia Bulldogs, and Ohio State Buckeyes are among the teams vying for the transfer guard. Last season Johnson averaged 30.4 minutes per game in 26 games while scoring 15.3 points per game. He shot 30.6% from behind the arc while contributing 5.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. He could be a great replacement with the loss of Austin Reaves to the NBA through the draft. Not to mention, the team needs to replace De'Vion Harmon who declared for the draft and transferred to the Oregon Ducks. Decision Coming Soon🙏🏾 Just No it&

'I always wanted to do for self': Arron Afflalo hopes to grind his way to NBA ownership - The Athletic

Image
Audacious dreams only require sustained belief. And here we find Arron Afflalo, the former guard who had a solid 11-year NBA career, during which he made very good, if not max, money — and who has quickly pivoted to a dream that may seem far-fetched on the surface: putting a group together to buy an NBA team. But the 35-year-old Afflalo has spent much of the last year doing just that, working with multiple significant financial players to try to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves. That bid fell short; though Afflalo did get multiple meetings with Wolves governor Glen Taylor, who entered into a letter of intent last month with a group led by former Walmart CEO Marc Lore and retired baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez, who plan to buy the team for $1.5 billion.
