Rockets’ Clint Capela not expected to be back until he’s pain free, via Mike D’Antoni - ClutchPoints

Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni addresses Clint Capela’s nagging heel contusion with reporters on Friday ahead of their showdown with the Dallas Mavericks.

For D’Antoni, Capela “shouldn’t come back until he’s pain free.”

The Rockets are 29-18 on the season, good for sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

Capela has appeared in 39 games for the Rockets this season, averaging 13.9 points, 13.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from the free-throw line. While he played in the team’s previous game, he has already missed a total of eight contests in the season.

The Siwss big man has also been ruled out of their game against the Mavs.

Houston is averaging 118.5 points per game this 2019-20 campaign, which is second in the NBA. Once again, Mike D’Antoni has the Rockets playing at a fast pace, as they also rank second in the league in pace. Pace factor is an estimate of the number of possessions per 48 minutes by a team, and Houston is at 103.8.

Once the playoffs begin, the Rockets will go as far as MVPs James Harden and Russell Westbrook can take them. Clint Capela is important for rebounding, blocks and easy buckets at the basket.
