There is one thing that is for sure in Houston— the James Harden and Russell Westbrook experiment has not worked. Now, the Rockets could be looking for a trade partner for one of their two superstars. Could this present an opportunity for the Orlando Magic to capitalize?

If they decide to trade Westbrook, the Magic could be in for a huge blockbuster deal. Orlando is in an interesting position. They were the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference this season. That is a position they have been fighting for year-in and year-out but they have not been able to improve much beyond.

The Magic could also look to tank and build some draft capital with Jonathan Isaac likely to miss all of the upcoming NBA season after tearing his ACL. However, trading for a talent like Westbrook would keep them competitive as he has shown to be able to carry teams to the playoffs before.

As for the Rockets, they have developed their own style of play. They like to score points and shoot three’s at a high rate. Defense has been a problem and so has been winning. With Mike D’Antoni out as head coach, it will be interesting to see if the team decides to change their style.

Their first order of business could be to trade Russell Westbrook. He needs to be the center of the team and that is not the case with the Houston Rockets. Here is a potential trade that features the Orlando Magic.
