Eastern Illinois shooting guard lists Oklahoma among top transfer destinations - Sooners Wire
The Oklahoma Sooners are continuing to build their 2021 roster using the transfer portal. The newest head coach Porter Moser could be closing in another talent from a non-Power Five school with Marvin Johnson of Eastern Illinois.
Johnson is an Oklahoma native from Ardmore. He signed with Eastern Illinois in the 2019 recruiting cycle and could be looking to come back home and playing for the Sooners. Along with OU the Arkansas Razorbacks, Georgia Bulldogs, and Ohio State Buckeyes are among the teams vying for the transfer guard.
Last season Johnson averaged 30.4 minutes per game in 26 games while scoring 15.3 points per game. He shot 30.6% from behind the arc while contributing 5.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. He could be a great replacement with the loss of Austin Reaves to the NBA through the draft. Not to mention, the team needs to replace De'Vion Harmon who declared for the draft and transferred to the Oregon Ducks.

Moser has been quite busy bringing in talent from the transfer portal, but does he have another trick up his sleeve to land Marvin Johnson. While he is expected to make his decision soon, no timetable has been announced at this time.
