FSU football: Will Noles benefit from transfer portal deadline? - Chop Chat

FSU football already had a few players enter the transfer portal over the past couple of weeks. It's possible a couple of more could head in that direction as the deadline to enter the transfer portal is May 1st.

Aside from Jarvis Brownlee, players that have entered the portal from FSU's side so far have been players that likely would not have been contributors during the 2022 season.

However, the flip side is the Noles still have a couple of positions that could benefit from taking a player in the transfer portal.

It would be beneficial for the Noles to take 1-2 offensive linemen, a wide receiver, defensive end, and maybe a linebacker or defensive back.

The question is will any players enter the portal before the deadline that will be attractive enough for the FSU football coaching staff to pursue?

Noles247($) reports the Noles have contacted a former four-star offensive lineman Ezra Dotson-Oyetade, who entered the transfer portal Friday from Arizona State. He originally hails from Texas, which is where FSU tight-end coach Chris Thomsen has coaching and recruiting ties. FSU wide receiver Johnny Wilson was teammates with Dotson-Oyetade before transferring to the Noles.

A ton of players entered the transfer portal Friday and I expect that to continue as the deadline approaches on May 1st. However, from the looks of it, some elite players are willing to jump into the portal at the last minute for the right siton.

If this comes to fruition, it seems like it's the end of college football as we know it. Addison is originally from Maryland, just won the award for best receiver in college football, and chooses to enter the transfer portal at the last minute?

I know he lost his quarterback Kenny Pickett to the NFL, but something about this doesn't sit right with me. However, it does mean if you have the money, you can get whoever you want from the transfer portal. The question is, can FSU football capitalize on opportunities if they present themselves?
