Nikola Jokic had hamstring tightness

Nikola Jokic had hamstring tightness going into Game 5, Nuggets coach Mike Malone said. Jokic played through it and looked like he may have been hurt during the game too. He still had 30-19-8 and almost sent the series back to Denver.

"I just don't understand the people that find a way to criticize Nikola Jokic," Malone said. "Is he perfect? No. I'm not saying he is but the guy is the definition of a warrior."

Nikola Jokic's stellar effort

Nikola Jokic with an all-timer game, even in the loss. He had 30 points/19 rebounds/8 assists. That's only been done 10 times in playoff history. Second time Jokic did it. Kareem did it twice. Wilt did it twice. Elgin Baylor did it twice. Barkley and Oscar also did it.

Warriors win in 5

Steph Curry with 16, 34, 27, 33 and 30 points in this series. Started it on a strict minutes limit, hadn't played in a month, came off the bench the first four games, looked rusty for about one half and like himself the rest of the series. Closed the Nuggets out.

Warriors attacking the rim

The Warriors waited until the end to do it, but the game changed when they decided to attack the rim. Steph Curry stopped relying on 3-pointers and the Warriors put Jokic (and Cousins) in the pick-and-roll. And when Denver tried to pre-switch to get out of it, the Warriors weren't deterred

Jokic struggles changing directions

It seems like Jokic is having some issue changing directions. He's getting up and down the court but not moving much laterally at the moment.

Non-Jokic Nuggets

Feels like a fitting stretch for the Nuggets right now.

Nikola Jokic has carried the team all season long and people have lamented how weak his supporting cast is in making an MVP case for him and now those non-Jokic Nuggets have to keep the team afloat long enough until he can come back in with 5 fouls and what might be an injury.

Poole 5 fouls (Nuggets 84, Warriors 83)

Five fouls and only eight points for Jordan Poole. These last two have been two of his worst games since February.

Boogie Nuggetland

DeMarcus Cousins has absolutely killed the Warriors. He's got 15 points on 6-for-9 and is +6.

Jokic on the bench

Feels like the Warriors really need to take advantage of these minutes Jokic is on the bench but they haven't so far. Denver is +4 in the 3+ minutes he's been out, stretching their lead.

Nuggets surge (Nuggets 66, Warriors 60)

The Warriors lit up the Nuggets at the end of the 2nd and start of the 3rd in games 1 and 2 but now it's Denver making the big run this quarter. They're up 10 on the Warriors and Golden State looks stale.

Warriors small lineup in the negative

That's a +1 to open the first half, -6 to open the second half for that small starting lineup. Steve Kerr quick to go back to Kevon Looney both times. He's entering after this timeout.

Nuggets first half defense

Nuggets kept the Warriors to just 100 points per 100 possessions; Warriors were at 125.4 over the first four games.

They've roughed them up on the boards (29-19 advantage) and have twice as many second chance points. This game is tied but the Nuggets have a made strong case that they're winning the run of play so far tonight.

Nuggets keeping it close

Denver sitting pretty well through two quarters. Tied on the road. They've turned it over nine times and they've only produced three Warriors points.

They should be ahead if they'd made more than 13 of 20 free throw attempts.

Warriors 9-man rotation

Warriors started this series with a 10-man rotation that didn't include Jonathan Kuminga. He's now the ninth man in a nine-man rotation. Iguodala injured, Bjelica getting a first half DNP. Alley oop to Kuminga from Draymond on his first possession.
