Shock Players Praise Prince

The long angular #22 of the Detroit Pistons, Tayshaun Prince is checking into the gameWAIT that is the wrong Tayshaun, it is supposed to be the musician formally known as Prince is taking the stage. On June 20 and 21 the man who is one of the most singular talents of the rock and roll era, Prince, sold out two phenomenal concerts on his Musicology Tour at The Palace of Auburn Hills and many Shock players attended the concert. The 5-2, brown eyed, and black haired Prince began performing at the young age of 19 and has been tying together pop, funk, and rock music for 27 years and counting.

According to Shock forward Iciss Tillis, The Palace was rocking and it was a great show. Tillis watched the wonders of Prince from The Palace floor and enjoyed the show with fellow teammates Barb Farris, Elaine Powell and Deanna Nolan. Tillis considers Prince one of her favorite artists, yet she had never seen one of his concerts in person. However, Tillis openly shares that she owns all of Princes CDs.

Over the span of Princes 27 year career in music, fans have begun to categorize Prince as the new Prince and the old Prince. His first few albums, released in the mid 1908s, of Purple Rain, Dirty Mind and others was a mixture of hard-funk music, catchy Beatlesque melodies, sweet soul ballads, and rock guitar pop, all at once. Princes record Purple Rain made him a superstar and the album eventually sold over ten million copies in the United States and spent a few weeks at number one. In 1991, Prince formed the New Power Generation, the best, most versatile and talented band he had ever assembled. This era reasserted Princes mastery of contemporary R&B music. Many people favor either the older version of Prince or the new blend; it is hard to enjoy both. I am personally an old Prince fan, exclaimed Tillis. I think that he is just trying to reinvent himself. Some of Tillis favorite songs include, Little Red Corvette, The Doves Cry, If I was Your Girlfriend and Diamonds and Pearls.

By popular demand, Prince has added an encore presentation of his Musicology Tour at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday July 31, 2004. Even though Tillis admits that she loves Prince and his music, she also confesses that she would not become obsessed and follow around her favorite artist from place to place. For the nights of June 20 and 21 there was momentarily a new Prince of The Palace, however, come October #22 of the Detroit Pistons will regain his thrown as the Prince of The Palace.
