MLB And Nike Announce 2025 Uniforms Will Have Larger Jersey Lettering ...

Major League Baseball uniforms will have larger lettering on the back of jerseys and individual pant customization will be available to all players beginning in 2025, MLB and Nike announced Friday.

MLB and Nike said the uniform adjustments will be made following conversations with players, clubs and equipment managers.

Some players in spring training complained about the fit and look. The white pants worn by some teams are see-through enough to clearly show tucked-in jersey tops.

"Player and club feedback is extremely important to us," Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. "Together with Nike, we listened to our players and as a result, we are addressing their concerns."

Nike also is working on a solution to address the slight color differences between the jerseys and pants of some gray road uniforms, as well as the discoloration that can occur because of sweat. Once the solution is finalized, adjusted gray uniforms will be worn as soon as the second half of this season.

"We will continue to work with Nike to make adjustments with the goal of delivering a uniform that looks good and helps MLB players perform at their best," Manfred said.

The uniform changes initially were detailed in a memo distributed to players by the players' association on Sunday.

Uniforms are made by Fanatics, with specifications set by MLB and Nike.

Inside the First Look at Cosmic Spring Training

Monday, April 14th, marked the first official day of 2025 Cosmic Baseball Spring Training. Thirty-eight professional baseball players arrived at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, VA. For many, not only was this their first time practicing under UV lights, but also their first time seeing Cosmic Baseball in person. Gian Trickster Maggay, outfielder and designated hitter for the Glowmojis, described the experience as "something out of a comic book." Outside of practice, players spent time working closely with the Chili Pepper media team to create content under UV lights. The team expressed their goal of bringing back the child-like love of the sport by highlighting the players' individual personalities that will be on full display starting April 25th at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Back To The Future Minor League Baseball Uniforms Are All The Rage

This upcoming season is expected to be a big one for baseball.

In the majors, the Chicago Cubs have a solid opportunity after a busy offseason to live up to the Back to the Future prophecy that predicted 2015 will be the year the Cubbies once again win the World Series.

In the minors, at least two teams are getting in on the spirit—both the Gary RailCats and the Montgomery Biscuits will sport uniforms inspired by the classic 1985 film.

These Marty McFly tributes were revealed on Wednesday as part of the Back to the Future night promotion planned for the June 13 game against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Jerseys will be auctioned off during the game for charity, and the night will also feature 80s décor, music and contests centered around the movie.

Also, fans born in 1985 (the year the movie came out) or 1955 (the year McFly is sent back in time to) can get free admission. A Delorean DMC-12 will also be on site at U.S. Steel Yard.

Last week, the Biscuits announced their plans for a Back to the Future night with uniforms also sporting a McFly color scheme.

The Biscuits will wear these on June 27 against the Chattanooga Lookouts. According to their release, it will mark the first time in 12 seasons the Biscuits wear custom-themed jerseys. Proceeds from the game will benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

All that's left now is to get the new-look Cubs on board.
